Job summary

This position is for a Senior Manager, Clinical Operations and is currently a remote position. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of Clinical Operations team members, ensuring successful performance and development of your direct reports, and successful performance of their project deliverables. You may also be part of a project team, or teams, and be responsible for the successful delivery of your own assigned projects.

Responsibilities

Team oversight responsibilities:

  • Exceed customer expectations by recruiting, retaining, and developing a skilled, experienced, and motivated team
  • Manage and oversee team activities including appropriate resourcing of staff, quality control, and successful project delivery
  • Manage and develop staff to ensure their performance meets/exceeds both business and their own personal goals/objectives through training, mentoring, and allocating staff according to their ability
  • Participate in formal staff review processes, e.g. performance and salary reviews
  • Ensure direct reports meet business, departmental, and project-specific productivity and quality KPIs
  • In conjunction with management, assist with developing, documenting, and updating internal Clinical Operations procedures and processes required for consistency across programs such as SOPs, Work Instructions, and Project Plans
  • Other duties as delegated/assigned

Project management responsibilities (as assigned):

  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure project requirements and timelines are met
  • Actively facilitate/participate in sponsor study team meetings and protocol training (e.g., SIVs, CRA training)
  • Maintain oversight of assigned study budgets and forecasts
  • Identify and escalate study risks in a timely manner to appropriate stakeholders, providing a mitigation plan where applicable
  • Effectively capture and communicate feedback and data with the Product team to continuously improve user experience
  • Triage platform issues with Clinical Operations, Product, and Development teams
  • Ensure sites, patients, and depots have the supplies they need
  • Other duties as delegated/assigned
Experience & requirements
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant project management experience, and 2+ years of relevant line management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate direct reports
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical trial management and biosample (clinical testing) management and process flow
  • Ability to reason independently for the purpose of assessing and recommending specific solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, set baseline targets, track trends, implement mitigation plans, and adapt to change
  • Complex early-phase oncology or rare disease clinical trial experience preferred
  • Previous experience as a Slope platform user preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent computer and technology proficiency
  • Excellent time management/organizational skills
  • Ability to provide a high-level of customer service
