Job Summary

Your quest for knowledge and learning knows no bounds. As a junior developer at Slope, your ambition and curiosity are channeled into building a better, more boring way to deliver complex clinical trials in a patient-centric, tech-driven manner.

At the beginning of your developer journey, you will start with writing automated unit and integration tests in order to gain a complete knowledge of the Slope platform. These tests introduce you to the data model and core mechanics of the platform. Our team has already written a ton of examples and documentation to help you get started.

Once you get the hang of tests, you will be given the opportunity to contribute code for apprentice-level code changes and optimizations. You'll collaborate across teams and work closely with other developers, directly benefiting from their experience as they help you overcome the hurdles to achieve success.

Your confidence increases with the feedback you receive and the features you ship, culminating in the delivery of more complicated development challenges. With your completion of these tasks and outlined learning objectives, you can advance to the next rank—gaining you more pay, responsibilities, and opportunities to grow.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver new features and code optimizations to the Slope platform.
  • Maintain a suite of automated unit and integration tests.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to isolate bugs and troubleshoot issues.
  • Share progress, feedback, and knowledge using words and video.
  • Participate in meetings with teammates, users, clients, and stakeholders.
Experience & Requirements
  • Proven experience writing full-stack web applications using Ruby on Rails.
  • Superb computer and technology proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and critical problem solving ability.
  • Super communicative in chat, video, and face-to-face interactions.
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
Who we're looking for
  • A curious, intensely ambitious hyper-learner.
  • A perpetual student of technology, design, and software architecture.
  • A candidate who is eager to drive value and results in a growing company.
  • Someone who is deeply motivated by a clear sense of purpose.
  • A self-directed individual with a bias towards action.
