CLINICAL & LAB VENDOR OPERATIONS AND BIOSPECIMEN DATA MANAGEMENT SERVICES

Avoid mishandling and losing samples

Even the most conscientious staff member can misinterpret complex sample collection, processing, storage, and shipping instructions from dense, paper-based lab manuals — which can lead to protocol deviations, lost samples, unusable data, or patient dissatisfaction.
Slope prevents these errors by digitizing the lab manual specifications into study specific, software-guided workflows.
Manage complex aliquoting, processing steps, and storage schemes
Reduce lab queries with digital requisition forms and electronic shipping manifests
Comply with the latest versions of your protocol and lab manual
Alleviate the burden of re-training site staff on changes to sample processes

What Can Research Sites Do to Better Manage Multiple Clinical Trial Vendors & Systems?
We all know that it takes a village to run a clinical trial. But how does this impact research sites, who are on the front lines conducting patient visits, managing patient samples, and collecting important biospecimen data?
Slope is extremely easy to use, compounded by the fact that our designated solutions engineer did all of the legwork to get our site started in the system. I just hopped on a phone call with our representative, told him how our company is set up and how we would like to use Slope to meet our needs, and he took it from there. We are very happy with Slope!

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Slope?

Slope is a free solution that was built by and for site staff for inventory and sample management that streamlines their operations and reduces risk across every trial in their organization.

The platform makes it easy for sites to ensure that they always have the right lab kits — and other clinical inventory — on hand while automatically guiding, documenting, and tracking all sampling activity.

As a result, Slope minimizes the risks of protocol deviations and lost or mishandled samples caused by a dependency on paper and spreadsheets.

Is Slope really free for sites?

Yes! Slope is free for research sites for both inventory and sample management across all of their trials at their organization. Slope strongly believes that equipping sites with the tools they need to get their jobs done will benefit the entire industry, and especially patients.

If your organization is conducting Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs), Slope does offer advanced functionality such as system integrations and site-to-site connections and services at a cost. Contact Slope today to discuss how we can further support your needs.

How easy is Slope to set up?

If you are working with a sponsor that is contracted with Slope, the platform is already configured and ready for use for that study.

If you work at a site that is deploying Slope independently across all of your studies, set-up is quick and easy. Once you receive access to your Slope account, you can start registering your lab kits, other forms of clinical inventory (i.e. bulk supplies, IP, etc.), and patient samples in a matter of minutes.

Slope provides a tutorial that guides the set-up. However, if you have any questions, you are always welcome to reach out to our support team for help.

What roles at sites would use Slope?

Anyone! Study coordinators and lab personnel are the most common research site users of the Slope platform, but other site personnel can also use Slope (i.e. nurses, phlebotomists, etc.), depending on the nature of your site’s process for managing clinical inventory, patient samples, and biospecimen data.

What training is involved? How often?

While Slope’s platform is intuitive and easy to use, we encourage new Slope users to read through our onboarding materials before using Slope. Current users will be informed of new features that may impact their work via in-app communications and email notifications. If you ever get stuck, our live support team offers in-app support and is ready to help Monday-Friday between 9am and 5pm Eastern time.

Can I use Slope for all my trials?

Yes! Slope is a clinical inventory management and sample management solution that can be used to support any clinical trial at your research site, regardless of therapeutic area, trial sponsor, kitting vendor, and shipping destination.

What types of inventory can be tracked in Slope?

Slope is most commonly used to track lab kits, but it can also be used to track the on-hand quantities and physical locations of bulk supplies, sample additives/solutions, IP/drug, shippers/boxes, and study documents at your research site.

What happens after the study is completed? How do I get access to my data?

Site users can download Excel reports of inventory and sample data at any time. This data can be pulled by inventory/sample type, study, sponsor, or across your entire organization.
